The Word
THE WORD exists to help people better understand the Word of God and grow in reverence for Him. Our purpose is not to add to Scripture, reshape it around our preferences, or ask anyone to simply take our word for what it means. We want to handle the text carefully, considering its biblical, historical, cultural, and linguistic context so that what God has spoken can be understood as faithfully as possible. Where deeper explanation is needed, we draw from responsible biblical scholarship and clearly identify our sources.
This is not our word. It is His.
God does not need this ministry, and His Word does not need our improvement. We need Him. Our responsibility is to faithfully handle what He has already given.
That begins with the text itself.
We want readers to see what Scripture says, understand the context in which it was written, and consider how its truth should shape our lives today. History, culture, geography, language, archaeology, and scholarship can help us better understand that context, but none of them stand above Scripture or replace it.
We do not expect anyone to accept a conclusion simply because The Reverence Mission published it. Read the passage. Examine the context. Follow the sources. Test what is taught against Scripture.
Where Scripture speaks clearly, we want to speak clearly. Where faithful Christians differ in interpretation, we want to acknowledge that honestly. And when we rely on scholars, historians, pastors, or other teachers, we will identify them rather than present their work as our own authority.
Our goal is not to create a new message from Scripture.
It is to help people understand what God has already spoken.
To read His Word carefully.
To understand it in context.
To believe what He has said.
To obey what He commands.
And to grow in deeper reverence for Him.
The authority belongs to Scripture, not to us.
